Guild Statement

Welcome to Occam’s Razor! OR is one of the oldest active raiding guilds left on Nathrezim, but because we generally avoid drama, many may still have questions about us. Who are we? What are our goals? What is the direction we are headed as a guild? Well, we are aiming for a slightly different guild than most. We want to experience as much raid content as possible, but this alone is not our primary goal. We strive to provide a family-like environment, to create a raiding team where camaraderie, constructive criticism, and working to help each other become the best players possible are prioritized for creating a stronger, more united guild. We believe that if we do this, progression and gear will inevitably follow.

Monday, January 25, 2010: Good NEEEWWWWSSSS Everybody!

After several heartbreaking 1-3% wipes in our battle against Professor Putricide during the past couple of weeks, Occam's finally got down to business tonight and conquered this tricky foe! We decided not to move on to the Blood Princes and Blood Queen Lana'thel until we had Putricide down, and now that the Plagueworks have officially been dealt with, we can turn our full attention to the Crimson Hall! More news to come as we battle our way towards Arthas and the conclusion of the Wrath of the Lich King! Congrats to the whole guild on our Putricide kill, keep up the great work!

Wednesday, November 5, 2009: Algalon Down & More!

Occam's has been making a lot of progress lately. Tonight a 10 man team went back to Ulduar and finally finished off Algalon! We had put one night of attempts in a couple of months ago but didn't get a chance to get back in there until tonight, where we got it after just 3 tries. Additionally, the last couple weeks have also seen us down Northrend Beasts, Lord Jaraxxus and Faction Champs in the heroic version of Trial of the Grand Crusader! Congrats to the whole guild on the progress we've been making recently, and to our Algalon team, keep up the good work!

Thursday, September 10, 2009: Trial of the Grand Crusader Cleared!

Congrats to our first 10 man team on defeating Anub'arak on Hard Mode tonight and completing The Call of the Grand Crusade! These fights are no joke on Heroic difficulty and Anub'arak in particular was very difficult. After a heart breaking 2% wipe, we decided to give it one more go and finally managed to get him down, finishing the Hard Mode version of ToC with 12 attempts remaining! Congrats again and great job to everyone who helped out:

Wednesday, August 5, 2009: Oh Hey There, Rusted Proto-Drake!

Congratulations to our first 10 man group for getting their Glory of the Ulduar Raider achievement tonight and earning the guild its first set of Rusted Proto-Drakes! After successfully completing Knock, Knock, Knock on Wood, I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning and One Light in the Darkness this past weekend, our 10 man team managed to get Firefighter down tonight after some considerable effort. Doing these hardmodes has been the most fun we have had in WoW in quite some time, and the reward was definitely worth the time spent. Grats again to our 10 man crew:

Monday, August 3, 2009: Yogg-Saron Down!

Congratulations to the whole guild on our first 25 man kill of Yogg-Saron! After weeks of attendance issues and roster problems, we finally got things rolling again this past week and made some solid attempts on Yogg. After spending much of yesterday learning the boss, we ended the night with an amazing attempt that went flawlessly, getting the boss to 8% with everyone alive and plenty of time on the enrage, when someone got Comcasted and adds went crazy wiping the raid :( .... It's Comcastic. Suffice to say we were bummed out, but the whole guild bounced back really well today, and we managed to get him down tonight on just our second attempt! Great job to everyone, and congrats to all on managing to get this guy down before the nerf!

Monday, June 15, 2009: General Vezax Down!

Congrats to everyone present last night for our first kill of General Vezax. After a short while of getting used to the fight we got him down without incident. We only got a brief look at Yogg-Saron before we had to call it for the night, but we will be busting our butts to get back there this week and log some real attempts. Yogg looks both fun and hard, let's hope Occam's is up to the challenge! Grats again to the whole guild!

Thursday, June 11, 2009: 10 Man Achievements!

An Occam's 10 man team plowed through a host of Hard Mode achievements tonight, including Heartbreaker, I Choose You, Steelbreaker, I Could Say That This Cache Was Rare and Lose Your Illusion. Irrylath won our first Archivum Data Disc and got us on our way towards 10 man Algalon. Great job to the 10 man group, and grats to Quag for getting the most retarded helm ever put in the game! Lookin sharp bro!

Monday, June 8, 2009: Mimiron Down!

Congratulations to the whole guild on our first Mimiron kill! A solid night of raiding almost netted us our first Vezax kill the same evening but time constraints forced us to stop. We are now 11/14 in Ulduar and hope to have General Vezax down this week. In other news we are still actively recruiting new members, particularly Resto Shamans!

Once again, well done everyone, Yogg-Saron is just around the corner!

In particular we are looking for a couple of talented Resto Shamans, as well as a skilled Feral Druid to join the ranks of our healers and tanks, respectively. Monday, May 4, 2009: Hodir & Thorim Down!

Congratulations on our first kills of Hodir and Thorim! Things have been a little slow around here due to a lot of people having finals, but we should have some screen shots up soon. We are now 10/14 in Ulduar and hope to have Mimiron down by next week. Good work so far everyone, lets keep it up!
