Guild Statement

Welcome to Occam’s Razor! OR is one of the oldest active raiding guilds left on Nathrezim, but because we generally avoid drama, many may still have questions about us. Who are we? What are our goals? What is the direction we are headed as a guild? Well, we are aiming for a slightly different guild than most. We want to experience as much raid content as possible, but this alone is not our primary goal. We strive to provide a family-like environment, to create a raiding team where camaraderie, constructive criticism, and working to help each other become the best players possible are prioritized for creating a stronger, more united guild. We believe that if we do this, progression and gear will inevitably follow.

For more details about Occam's Razor, please see our figurehead statement.

Guild News

Monday, June 28, 2010: Duely is Legendary!

Congratulations to Duely for finishing OR's first legendary axe: Shadowmourne! Additionally, Jezparia had the lucky roll of the week and won the mount, grats to him! As we began the week of raiding, Duely needed 8 shards to finish the axe, and in a twist of good fortune picked up the 8th and final fragment on the last boss of the week, allowing him to complete the quest just in time! Grats Duely, and happy birthday! Meanwhile, OR continues to chug through various hardmodes in Icecrown Citadel. We are now 9/12 and staring at Heroic Putricide and Sindragosa. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before we get a look at Heroic Lich King! Well done everyone, keep up the good work!

Sunday, May 2, 2010: Lich King Down!

Congratulations to the whole guild on our first Lich King 25-man kill! We started making great progress from the very first pull tonight, and although it took us most of the evening to clean everything up enough for a kill, it felt within grasp the whole night. This was a particularly cathartic kill for us after rebounding from some pretty crippling roster losses over the past few months. Thanks and good job to all the new guys we've had to bring in during the last couple of weeks, as well as 3 cheers for all our members who have stuck it out. Great job again to everyone, bring on Hard Modes!

Sunday, April 10, 2010: Occam's Wants You!

Occam's Razor is currently in need of some quality players who can mash buttons and not stand in bad stuff all at the same time! Specifically, we are in desperate need of a Resto Shaman! Apps with reasonable gear will likely be thrown straight into the mix, so come prepared! We are also looking for a couple of melee DPS to shore up our ranks, feel free to check out our recruitment page for more info. If you think you have what it takes then come by our forums and drop off an app!

Sunday, February 21, 2010: SHOWDOWN AT ICC

Having cleared the Crimson Halls last week, Occam's moved on to down Sindragosa in just one evening of attempts last night. We were really pleased with the kill, it was pretty clean in the end, feel free to check it out here or, for better music and more iceblocks, here. We were going to get a cool screen shot of all of us teabagging Arthas or something but Danaru ruined it for everyone. Way to go Dan. Bring on the Lich King.

Monday, January 25, 2010: Good NEEEWWWWSSSS Everybody!

After several heartbreaking 1-3% wipes in our battle against Professor Putricide during the past couple of weeks, Occam's finally got down to business tonight and conquered this tricky foe! We decided not to move on to the Blood Princes and Blood Queen Lana'thel until we had Putricide down, and now that the Plagueworks have officially been dealt with, we can turn our full attention to the Crimson Hall! More news to come as we battle our way towards Arthas and the conclusion of the Wrath of the Lich King! Congrats to the whole guild on our Putricide kill, keep up the great work!
