Shaman Requirements

Currently Seeking: Enhancement/Elemental Shaman

Talents, totems and coordination:

Shamans are one of the most desired classes in raids because of the myriad buffs they can bring, especially in numbers. We expect our Shamans to be intelligent in their management and placement of totems, and be ready to pop Bloodlust whenever the raid leader calls for it. In addition, Shaman are a hybrid class, and as such we expect you to use all of your abilities to assist the raid, regardless of your spec.

  • Restoration: As a Resto Shaman in <OR> you will be expected to use many of your spells to fit the needs of the raid in any given situation. Flexibility from moment to moment is key, and which combination of spells is best for each situation is up to you, but there are a few things that we expect from all our Resto Shamans in general:
    • 2500 Spellpower, minimum (with Earthliving).
    • 900 haste, minimum
    • 400 mp5, minimum
    • Talent points in Cleanse Spirit. Remember, this allows you to decurse as well!
  • Elemental: As always, coordinating which totems to drop with other Shamans in the raid to maximize overall DPS is paramount. Elemental Shaman damage output is particularly dependent on gear level, so please make a concerted effort to obtain the following before applying:
    • 3000 Spellpower at minimum (with Flametongue).
    • Be Hit Capped (You can assume either Imp Faerie Fire or Misery is on your target).
    • Use the Thunderstorm Glyph, or risk the wrath of our Tanks.
  • Enhancement: Occam's Razor currently runs with several Enhancement Shamans. This allows for a lot of diversity amongst their talent selection and totem choices for maximizing everyone's DPS. Where and how you will fit into this picture is best discussed with our Shamans themselves, but in general you should be prepared to pick up points in any given set of totems or abilities depending on the raid's needs. We ask, at the very least, that all of our Enhancement Shamans fulfill the following:
    • 5000 Attack Power, unbuffed
    • 35% crit, unbuffed
    • Be Hit Capped (Again, assume either Imp Faerie Fire or Misery is on your target).
    • Be Expertise Capped.
    • At least one Shaman should be providing Unleashed Rage for the raid.

Regardless of spec, a willingness to learn is the biggest asset you can bring to Occam's Shaman team. If you have any questions, contact Gumbie or Rainx.
