Warrior Expectations

For dps:

Impress us with your l33t dps and ability to not die to trash.

For tanks:

1) 51 points in prot and be able to defend/justify every point spent. Also be willing to re-spec as needed.

2) Good tanking gear. Capped defense (540 minimum) and 45k HP (also minimum). In general, we're not looking for someone who meets the minimums, but for someone who exceeds them.

3) Some previous raiding experience. We have a small team of tanks, and we expect all of them to be able to work with a raid leader to pull a group through an instance at a good pace.

4) It goes without saying that we're looking for a warrior who is good at playing their class, particularly on the tanking end of things. Because of this, warrior applicants should answer the following additional questions on their application:

• What is the value of the Shield Block ability, and when should you use it?
• Prioritize the following abilities in order to provide maximum threat output: Shield Block, Devastate, Revenge, Shield Slam, Heroic Strike. Assume infinite rage.
• What is the best method of AoE tanking a group of 5+ mobs? Explain your skill rotation.
• If you were gearing for avoidance which stat would you stack first? Dodge or Parry? Explain.
• What gear stats do you prioritize for slow, Hard hitting bosses?
• What gear stats do you prioritize for Threat sensitive bosses?
• What gear stats do you prioritize for Fast, softer hitting bosses?

5) The recruitment process will very likely be a slow one (slower then normal). We'll need to group with you often and see how you tank in dungeons and raids.

All warrior tanks in OR are expected to tank at some point or another. New recruits will be put in MT positions in 10 mans right away, and will be expected to OT and MT in 10 and 25 man raids. DPS gear is certainly important, but we will be taking a closer look at tanking gear. Resist gear is also more important than for other classes.
